Christopher Ortega - Writer Director
founded Ortega Cinema with the vision to create an artistic production studio shaping the possibilities of tomorrow.
Ortega most recently directed and produced the magical realism short film about lucid dreaming called Oneironaut, executive produced by and starring Brandon P. Bell from the Netflix series Dear White People.
After studying Finance at Morehouse College (2013) and Film & Television Production at USC School of Cinematic Arts (2017) he was awarded the Edward Troutner Scholarship for exemplary accomplishments in Cinematography.
His award-winning Afro-futuristic Sci-fi short film Prototype has played in nine festivals around North America winning the Atlanta Sci-Fi Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best Live Action Short-film in 2018.
Franceli Chapman - Producer
is an Afro-Latina(Dominican) Artivist. Activism and art were bound to come together for Franceli, by the age of 7 she began to teach dance with her father and at 8 went to her first protest when the KKK were staying on school grounds close by to her home at the time. She uses her voice to speak on panels and protests on the need for inclusion/diversity in Hollywood. She has hosted/participated in panels for the Hispancize Conference, National Hispanic Media Coalition, and Vida Afro Latina fundraiser.
Franceli has covered and written for several publications Houston Style Magazine, Broadway Black, Soul Essence Magazine to name a few and has been featured in the NY TIMES, Amsterdam News, CNN, Telemundo. She worked with Latina Show-runner Tanya Saracho in the writer's room for Brujas on Starz. Semi-Finalist in 2018 and then winner in 2019 of the Restoration Art & Frank Silvera Writer’s Workshop 50for50 Letters to Our Daughter’s contest curated by Tony-Nominated writer, Dominque Morriseau. Her play, "A Work in Progress" was produced at the Castillo Theatre for the Young Playwrights Festival. Her short story, A Runner's Heart was featured in Audible book: "Talking while Female and Other Dangerous Acts" Mrs Ortega is a published author as well. Her debut book Between Spaces has been featured on several blogs and news outlets.
